Global production for Nissan and Infiniti models which can be found at an Infiniti Dealership Westborough have increased for February of 2011 compared to 2010. Sales were up 21.7% for the year showing signs of growth for Nissan and its luxury Infiniti linup. Mexican production increased 22.3% on the year with increased demand for models such as the Nissan Sentra and Tiida.

In the United Kingdom, production increased even more to 34.7% up to almost 40,000 units with more demand for the Nissan Juke as well as the Qashqai. Spain production increased 72.4% with increased demand of the Primastar and the NV200. China production increased to nearly 70,000 units with more demand for the Sunny. This is a new record for Nissan for the month of February, and Nissan has been in the Chinese market for a number of years. Nissan sales have been up as the company has taken larger market shares from competitors like Toyota and has benefited from a long series of high quality automobile releases. The Japanese tsunami has wiped out a large shipment of Infiniti and Nissan models that were going to be shipped to U.S. and Japanese showrooms. It was not clear if models sold at Infiniti Dealership Westborough were affected by the tsunami. At least 2,300 vehicles have been damaged with nearly 1,300 Infiniti M, EX, and FX models being damaged. These models were parked at a coastal landing point before the tsunami swept in. Westborough Infiniti and other Infiniti dealerships have large quantities of models in stock, so many dealerships will not be immediately affected by model shortages.

Dealers with a wider inventory such as AL Used Cars and others will also be less affected. However, it is unclear when shipments will resume for Nissan Toyota, and Honda, all three of which have had delays due to the tsunami or other logistical problems. There were pictures of the damage that showed hundreds of vehicles piled on each other and throw about by the tsunami waters. There were also some models that caught on fire. There were about 1,300 vehicles that were scheduled to be exported to the United States and most were Infiniti models. There were also some 370Z Nissan sports cars that were damaged.

A service center close to the shipping location was also damaged with another 1,000 vehicles at that location being damaged. In the same area there were many villages and smaller cities that were hit by the earthquake and tsunami and damaged with ruptured gas lines and other problems. Large areas were flooded and there were nuclear power plants that were damaged as well. Auto production for Nissan shut down in the areas hit by the earthquake because of factory damage as well as a lack of transportation. Many Nissan employees did not go home during the day of the earthquake due to public transportation being shut down.

The price for the new model which goes on sale on March 16, 2011 at Infiniti dealerships throughout the country will be at $53,700. The Infiniti M will be advertising during the 2011 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament in a partnership with the NCAA and Infiniti will also present “coaches spotlights” during the tournament.

The Infiniti M Hybrid features the Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid system which is a two clutch parallel hybrid design with motor control technology that is powered by a lithium ion battery.
