Infiniti Borrows a Mercedes Engine!

Infiniti is partnering up with Mercedes-Benz and Nissan to create their newest luxury machine, and since we first heard about it last November, it has been the talk of the auto industry. There are rumors circulating that a lot of the design inspiration is coming from the Mercedes-Benz CLC as well as the Infiniti Essence Concept. Both vehicles are compact, sleek, stylish, and are loaded with power. Infiniti has told a few sources that under the hood will be an engine borrowed from Mercedes-Benz, but the exact details are still a little blurry. You can probably expect to see something along the lines of the 1.8-liter turbocharged engine from the Mercedes-Benz CGI. That compact engine puts out a whopping 207 horsepower but only 178 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer, putting it near the top of the eco-friendly charts.
The platform and bones of the car will be based on the Renault-Nissan platform, a brand new design that is being featured on the Megane. This will be the smallest vehicle that Infiniti has ever produced, and the fact that it will be paired with an amazing Mercedes-Benz engine makes this car a success before it even goes into production.
