Infiniti QX4 and Nissan Pathfinder recall;

infiniti qx4 parts 300x225 Infiniti QX4 and Nissan Pathfinder recall;Nissan has issued a recall for almost 200,000 Infiniti and Nissan SUV models due to a defect that may cause the vehicles to rust. The latest Infiniti models can be purchased from an Infiniti Dealership Arlington, and the recall only affects 1997-2003 Infiniti QX4 SUV models as well as the 1996-2004 Nissan Pathfinder. The models are affected by a potential problem with resting that can result from exposure to heavy road salt which could find its way into the struts. Models that are not affected by the recall can be purchased or test driven at Arlington Infiniti Dealers.

Past year Nissan and Infiniti models can be found at a Used Car Dealership AL. Nissan will repair the affected vehicles free of charge, and the states that are affected by the recall include Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

In January the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration conducted a test on Nissan and Infiniti SUV rust issues and the agency found that there could be rust problems that develop into steering problems which can result in a serious accident. There were 35 cases of severe rusting reported to the agency with 18 vehicles having steering problems that resulted from the rusting. The investigation has turned into a recall, and there are a total of 195,991 Pathfinder and QX4 models that will be recalled.Infiniti QX4 300x200 Infiniti QX4 and Nissan Pathfinder recall;

The states that the recall is being issued in have heavy snow fall in which salt and brine is used to clear the snow from the roads. There is a location hole in the front upper struting that can be exposed to the elements and allow salt to seep in. Moisture can reach the surface of the strut housing and the combination of water and salt can cause the strut housing to rust away and in some cases the steering column can break.

Infiniti QX4 Recalled!

Infiniti QX4 300x224 Infiniti QX4 Recalled!Nothing like a good recall to start off 2011 for Westborough Infiniti Dealers!  They are not alone in the recall headlines, and plenty of other brands have been subject to scrutiny from safety investigations.  The recall affects the Infiniti QX4, which was sold at Infiniti Westborough as well as the rest of the dealerships across the country.  Apparently, there is some corrosion problems that will affect the steering system and that could cause the driver to lose control of their vehicle.  Even some of the older ones for sale at Kansas City Used Cars are affected by the recall, so owners need to be thorough and see if their particular vehicle needs to be taken into the dealership for service.

Pathfinder 300x199 Infiniti QX4 Recalled!As of right now, there are approximately 400,000 SUVs that both Nissan and Infiniti are in the process of recalling.  People who are driving a Nissan Pathfinder from 1996 through 2004 will want to access the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website to see what corrective action needs to be taken.  Additionally, the Infiniti QX4 that was sold during 1997 up until 2003 are also affected by the recall.  Both brands pride themselves on producing safe vehicles, so you can expect that the issue will be resolved as soon as possible.

The reports have been focused around corrosion on the driver’s side front strut tower.  The front strut tower has a huge impact on the overall alignment of the vehicle and when the strut tower becomes compromised, the steering column becomes compromised as well.  Drivers will then have a hard time remaining in control of their vehicle.  As of right now, there have been five reports of the steering shaft actually breaking and the drivers did lose the steering control of their vehicle.  Luckily, there have been no injuries or accidents reported as a result of the defect.

Infiniti Recall of 134,000 Infiniti G35:

Infiniti Picture Infiniti Recall of 134,000 Infiniti G35:Recently Nissan has recalled 134,000 infiniti G35 vehicles due to a defect in their airbag system that has been known to cause them not to deploy if an accident were to occur. A little detail that Birmingham Honda Dealers carefully took into consideration when they were exchanging tactics and salesmen strategies. After all, with Jackson Toyota Dealers as their competition it hasn’t been so easy with well-know car companies such as Infiniti.

This recall not only affected the extra sales Monterey Ford Dealers, but also 2005 and 2006 models of the G35 sedan, as well as 2005-2007 models of the G35 coupe. Plus, some 2007 and 2008 G35 and G37 models went through a similar recalls that had problems detecting whether a passenger was present in the front passenger seat system. These airbag passenger detecting systems have created quite a few problems for companies like BMW and Hyundai, just like Infiniti but it is still a mystery as to whether or not such recalls should be a major concern against the company itself.

Some are not beginning to take the automotive recalls to heart for the Infiniti/Nissan reputation. Instead, they are quietly and soundly taking their G35 and/or G37 vehicles to the dealer when and if their models red air bag warning light turns on.

A direct cause for this automotive recall is the wire harness that connects to the Belt Tension Sensor (BTS) Infiniti Airbag Recall 300x196 Infiniti Recall of 134,000 Infiniti G35:and the Occupant Detection Sensor (ODS) control unit located under the front passenger seat that can overtime not work due to wear and oxidation of terminals that interrupt the signal and can cause their absence when you may need it the most!

My advice is to make sure you make yourself aware of these safety adversaries and educate yourself on good safety habits, and what to look for in vehicles, automotive manufacturers, and engines as well. Doing so, just might save your life or your loved ones.

Nissan Recalls Infiniti G35 Sedans and Coupes due to Airbag Issues.

07InfG35 300x204 Nissan Recalls Infiniti G35 Sedans and Coupes due to Airbag Issues. If you own a Nissan Infiniti G35 sedan or coupe, then heads up to this recall info!  Nissan Motor Co. is set to recall nearly 135,000 Infiniti G35 sedans and coupes to address a problem that could lead to the air bag not deploying in a crash.  The Lincoln MKZ in in the Infiniti’s class and can be driven at any Portsmouth Lincoln dealer.  You can pick up either make or model at any dealer that offers Missouri used car loans.

Nissan said the recall involves G35 Coupes from the 2005 to 2007 model years and G35 Sedans from the 2005 to 2006 model year.

The automaker says the air bag unit’s wire harness under the front passenger seat could wear down and interrupt the air bag’s signal. In a crash, the air bag may not deploy and could increase the risk of an injury.

According to a report filed with the National Highway Safety Administration, the wire harness connecting the belt tension sensor and the occupant detection sensor control unit under the front passenger seat can experience movement, causing wear and tear on the terminals. Damage to the terminals could result in an interruption of the signal that causes the air bag to deploy.

No accidents or injuries have been reported in connection with the issue, however Nissan is taking no chances.   The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Nissan had not yet provided the agency with a plan to fix the vehicles. It is said that Nissan plans on notifying owners of the recall this month,  June 2010.  No accidents or injuries have been reported thus far so don’t panic.  Just be sure to check in to the recall though just to be safe!

War is Brewing in Capital Hill over Auto Defect Proposal

am War is Brewing in Capital Hill over Auto Defect Proposal

A proposal is being discussed in Congress that would allow consumers to sue automobile manufacturers more easily.  The Wall Street Journal reported today that Rep. Bruce Braley (D., Iowa), and Rep. Henry Waxman (D., Calif.), are pressing legislation that would allow consumers to sue vehicle manufacturers in state courts, even if the vehicle is compliant with federal safety guidelines.  The automotive industry is fighting the measure which would without question allow for many more lawsuits against car manufacturers for auto defects that result in injury.

If passed, the law would have far reaching effects on manufacturers such as Nissan, Mazda, GM and dealers in many states such as this North Carolina Nissan Dealer or this Staten Island Chevrolet Dealer.  It is thought by the automotive industry that the passage of this law would increase the prices for automobiles and hike insurance rates, as there would be more liability for car manufacturers in the cases that faulty vehicle safety components cause injury or accidents.

However, many lawmakers and consumer protection groups support the passage of this proposal in order to protect consumers from what they believe are potentially deadly design flaws.  These design flaws have been extensively covered by the media, and manufacturers such as Toyota have come under heavy criticism for perceived inadequacies at protecting their customers from vehicle safety problems.

The new law stems in part from a California based lawsuit against Mazda in which a passenger died in a car accident allegedly from the lap-only seatbelts in the vehicle and faulty safety design.  The plaintiff is accusing Mazda of not having a more up-to-date seatbelt system to prevent injury.  The case has been taken up by the Supreme Court after two California courts ruled that the lawsuit was pre-empted by federal law.  The Supreme Court ruling is certain to have far reaching implications on whether or not automakers will be able to be sued under state liability laws.   The Supreme Court is expected to hear in the case in the 2010-2011 term starting in October.
